The Apostolic Company

There are 5 things that we have been given that make us an Apostolic company1. We have been given a commission. Although we are under an Apostle, we share the calling that he has been given; to take an Apostolic message to the nations. We are united under the same purpose as a people.2. We have been given a unique grace. God does not give a mission without giving the grace needed to accomplish it. We walk in grace for community which allows us to be an example of what an apostolic people should look like.3. We have been given a war.Jesus has conquered Satan, but there are still spiritual powers that would look to set themselves up in places of power on Earth and in people's hearts. With the calling we have been given, we can expect resistance from these spiritual 'authorities.' Although we may not always know what we are facing, we need to be prepared for it. When we are in an apostolic company, we are dressed for war.4. We have been given power and authority.Again, God doesn't throw us into battle without giving us any protection weapons. We have been given the authority to dismantle spiritual strongholds that have taken root in hearts, cities, and whole nations. This power is available, but like a sword, it needs to be grasped. We spend time submitting ourselves to God and praying for the power to do what he wants done.Finally5. We have been given relationshipsWhen we walk into battle, we don't go alone. We are bound together as a people in relationship, as a family, that supports each member in prayer and love, that walk together and that grow together in the knowledge and outworking of our calling.This is the Apostolic company, a fellowship of people united in love for each other and for Christ, with grace to fulfil the commission given to them.
