The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-1 Olympiacos (022)

from The Arsenal Therapy Podcast · host Hosted by Adam Keys

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Looking ahead to this game, we all expected Arsenal to face a hungry Olympiacos side who were likely to cause many problems. However, the first half didn't meet those expectations as Arsenal managed the game perfectly with opportunities to seal the tie in the opening 45 minutes. Arteta's men played with a positive energy, great enthusiasm and worked hard to keep the ball throughout the first half. However, the second half was a completely different story as Olympiacos came out of 2nd gear and started to put Arsenal's backline under pressure. For whatever reason, Arsenal struggled to win dominance early on in the second half and following a sloppy mistake in the middle of the pitch, they conceded an early goal. Olympiacos were very much the dominant side in the second half and got themselves in good areas but were unable to capitalise. Arsenal's game management wasn't working and needed Baa to be sent off before taking control of the game. Had it not been for the red card Olympiacos may have scored another goal to make it a very nervy ending to the game.
