The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-1 Slavia Praha (025)

from The Arsenal Therapy Podcast · host Hosted by Adam Keys

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. What started off as a promising game with lots of talent on the pitch with Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe coming back in the lineup, the last minute brought Arsenal back to reality. The game was dominated by Arsenal with so many opportunities being created on the first half down the right hand side with Saka being put through on goal a few times whilst also generating some good crosses in the box, albeit the wrong types of crosses. The second half saw us carry on where we left off from despite Praha start to play a higher line and press with more men. Lacazette had two guilt edge opportunities with a one-on-one and what could be described as a tap in that went over. Whilst Arsenal were strong and dominant in Slavia Praha's half, they also posed a danger when Arsenal lost possession in midfield. We could easily have conceded goals in the first and second half, however had Arsenal taken the opportunities they created early on it could have been a different story. Ultimately, the subs made the difference with Aubameyang coming on to put Pepe through on goal who scored the crucial goal. Martinelli came on to change the pace of the game but he is clearly not the finished product and needs time to adapt and develop himself before being given regular football. As Arsenal enter the later stages of the game, we fail to react positively, crumble under pressure and concede from a set piece. It's all to play for in Prague.
