The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Brentford 2-0 Arsenal (EP.48)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal start the opening game of the season with a defeat to newly promoted side Brentford who managed to score two goals whilst also keeping a clean sheet. What looked like a fresh, new and exciting starting XI with plenty of young talent on show soon turned out to be nothing more than false hope as Brentford launched their Premier League campaign with a goal on the 22nd minute. Arsenal played some good attacking football at times with Tierney delivering some great balls into the box from the left hand flank but Brentford were well setup and defended as a unit whilst Arsenal played a risky high line that didn’t work to their advantage as they were caught out on a number of occasions by players like Toney and Mbuemo. The second half contained the same optimistic football but there were clear problems with the ability to progress the ball with any effective fluidity. Unfortunately, we were too wasteful in the final third and were punished for it as Brentford scored a second goal from a throw-in that would seal their first ever Premier League victory.
