The Art of Translating Poems - Julieta Corpus

In this conversation, we will be talking about how the thematic change with an artist,  and the art of translating poems.About our Guest: Julieta Corpus poems have been published in various magazines, newspapers, and anthologies, such as Tendiendo Puentes, The University of Texas-Pan American Gallery Magazine, Interstice, and Tierra Firme. She has also been featured in local Rio Grande Valley newspapers such as The Mesquite Review and The Monitor's Writer’s Edition: Festiba.  She has participated in the RGV Boundless International Festival for five years and her poems have been included in all five anthologies. , Julieta was invited to participate in FELISMA, the book festival in San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato.  Julieta hosted A Night of Poetry at the Savory Perks Cafe in Weslaco, Texas for three years. In 2013, she finished recording a compact disc titled Corazón Parlante, which includes twelve poems of her own inspiration with background music arranged by Mario Mora, a member of the band Dulce Tóxico and cover by Monica Ramirez. At the moment, the poet enjoys participating in poetry events sharing her poems in the Rio Grande Valley. In May 2016 she finished her Master's Degree in Literary Creation at the University of Texas (UTRGV.) In March 2017 she participated in the Tribute to La Mujer, sharing her poetry in Güira de Melena, Cuba and recently her poems have been included in anthologies : Only in San Miguel Volume I and II. In addition, she participated with poet Katie Hoerth and visual artist Corinne Whittemore in the collaboration for the book "Borderland Women," published by Austin Press (Texas A&M) and will be available fall 2021. Finally, the first collection of her poetry has already gone on sale, and was published in June 2021 by EM Editorials with the title, "De Amores y Despedidas / Of Love And Departures".
