Every year the church celebrates Christmas—the Lord stepping into time, space, and history by way of the virgin birth. And every year the church celebrates Easter—the resurrection of Christ. But what about the Ascension? After Jesus rose from the dead where did He go? Where is He currently? Why did He have to leave? Wouldn’t it have been better had He stayed? The answer to these questions profoundly speaks to strengthening our faith, overcoming temptation, nurturing hope, fostering worship, and producing awe as we behold what God has done for us in Christ.
