On October 6th, 1999, police in Austin announced the arrest of four suspects in the area's most high-profile cold case. Maurice Pierce and Forrest Welborn were two young men that had been suspected of involvement back in 1991, while Michael Scott and Robert Springsteen - their friends at the time - had been with them on the weekend of the murders. Now in their mid-20's, these four were alleged to have murdered four teenage girls in a yogurt shop years prior, and were subsequently charged with their deaths. Over the next several years, a complicated story would begin to play out in the Texas court system, where anyone's guilt was far from assured.
