Lauren Ratcliff's parents suspected something different about her since infancy. By kindergarten, her developmental delays became clear. Diagnosed with a lifelong disorder (initially Pervasive Developmental Disorder, later Asperger's Syndrome, and now Autism Spectrum Disorder), Lauren's journey has been filled with challenges. Growing up in rural Kentucky in the 80s and 90s, Lauren faced limited treatment options, social stigma, and isolation. In this memoir, Lauren shares her personal journey, the challenges she faced, and the impact ASD has had on her life. Despite the obstacles, Lauren has a fulfilling life.
