LANCE ROBINSON Author & Writers of the Future Winner – Biography Lance Robinson has had a strong interest in Science Fiction since elementary school reading The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and Dune being a fan of Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke as well as writing his first novel before finishing high school. Lance lives in the city of Thunder Bay, in northwestern Ontario, Canada, in the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg peoples and Fort William First Nation. When he's at his day job, he's a social scientist whose work revolves around the human dimensions of managing natural resources. He generally doesn't put an “environmental science fiction” label on his work, but environmental themes and musings about human beings’ economic, cultural and spiritual relationships with nature are often woven into his fiction.
