We must be clear speakers and caring listeners if we want these relationships to work. It can be frustrating to feel as if you cannot convey our ideas and thoughts. Is it the way that I'm speaking, the way that you're listening, or is it a little of both? Often, we are so anxious to share our ideas that we stop listening to the other person. This is the quickest way to turn communication into dualling lectures. 76% of the world's population has some level of fear of public speaking. Some people love to ramble, and others just don’t care. Dialect, distance, and desire can dampen potential debate. With so many potential problems in communication we owe it to ourselves and those we wish to connect with to become the best communicators that we can be. Let's chew on that for a while and see if we can uncover our SIZZLE!  Know your goal or purpose before you start speaking B – Believe in yourself, you have important things to share. A – Authenticity and sincerity are crucial in developing trust. C – Connect with your audience. Find a bond. O – Observe your audience and adjust to their reactions. N – Narrate GREAT Stories to keep them interested. Practice being a better listener B – Be attentive and be in the now! A – Ask clarifying questions and strive to understand. C – Celebrate their ideas and their courage and interest in sharing O – Open-Minded is the best way to enter a conversation N – No Judgement until you have clarified and heard them out.
