From Everything Everywhere All At Once, the concept of the Bagel fascinated me and it spoke deeply about the issues in my internal world that no one really knew about. It resonated with me because, just like Joy, I had to deal with a mother that wasn't present with me in a world that wasn't fair. I had hoped for a long time that she would see how I saw the world (or at least, or little world) and she would agree with me that nothing made sense in the grand scheme of things and that we were all desperately looking for meaning in a world where the aim was to "go around in circles".
