The Basilica of Saint Mary's of The Immaculate Conception

It's a national historic landmark. It's the only basilica in the US with a predominately African American congregation. It's the only Catholic church in Virginia with basilica status. It's entryway has been blessed as a "Holy Door". And it is falling apart. On the next Another View we'll hear the remarkable history of this church and discover why it is so critical to the neighborhood where it exists, and the efforts underway to save the historic structure.
