The Battle of Athens Tennessee (An American History Episode) - Episode 19

After years of political corruption and police brutality & misconduct, and voter intimidation, the citizens of McKinn County, led by recently-returned-home World War II vets, rebelled against their oppressors and took back their way of life by any means necessary.  What was initially viewed as civil unrest and the wrong way to go about changing things, this story is now viewed as a tale of American rebellion in the face of a broken system.  Sound familiar?  This small rebellion holds many parallels to the current uprising in America and offers an interesting look at how there has always been resistance to unchecked power, and how the same tactics have always been used in an attempt to keep the status quo for those who abuse that power.
