The Battle of Camden | Episode 5

from Mission History · host Black Barrel Media

As the war in the northern colonies turns to a stalemate, it engulfs the southern colonies. The British capture critical port cities in Georgia and South Carolina, and then expand their dominance inland. During the campaign, a small engagement becomes nearly as infamous in American history as the Boston Massacre. Then, in a forest of pine trees north of the small town of Camden, South Carolina, the American southern army meets the British southern army for the first time. The battle is vicious, and devastating for the Americans. But it leads to a new phase of the war, one in which the Americans see a pathway to victory. ~~~ Mission History is a collaboration of Black Barrel Media and QCODE.
