(Strong’s Greek Lexicon, p. 982)   The term scepter is a “symbol of sovereignty” and/or “royal or imperial authority.” (Webster’s New World Dictionary) With this in mind, consider the following passages of scripture:   The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; . . . (Gen. 49:10)   . . . there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, . . . (Num. 24:17)   Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. (Ps. 45:6)   In the New Testament God is described as the only “lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy.” (James 4:12)   There are actually only two basic churches and two kingdoms, but within each are many divisions of smaller churches and kingdoms. Those under the influence of the devil exist mainly to oppose, infiltrate and try to overpower the church and kingdom of God. Hence, it takes much study, prayer and diligence to discern the difference between the two.
