The Beatitudes | Sermon on the Mount Week 1

In its 5th chapter, the Gospel of Matthew records a lengthy, vital and applicable sermon that Jesus delivered on the Mount of Olives. The Sermon on the Mount contains so great a wealth of instruction that we are dedicating the next 10 weeks to explore this together. Pastor Adam Barnett kicked off our summer series by discussing the sermon as a whole and walking through the opening verses which comprise The Beatitudes. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. Matthew 5:3 (NIV) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:4 (NIV) Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:5 (NIV) Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
