Contrition isn’t about living in self-pity or carrying perpetual guilt; it is the honest, professional recognition that our own way of doing things has failed. It is an internal collapse of our self-sufficiency. When we come to God with a broken heart, we are essentially saying, 'Lord, I am dropping the keys to my own defense. I stop pretending I have it all together.' The moment we break before Him, the legal defense of Heaven takes over our case. Are we still trying to run on a compromised system, or are we ready to break so He can rebuild us?
