The Best Deed Is To Be Happy With Allahﷻ
from 2021 Sohbah Archive · host SufiHub Naqshbandi
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem It is said that ‘beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’. A common saying used to describe the different quality of attractiveness measured by the experiences and lifestyle of the person looking. In the Holy Quran, we find The Beholder of Beauty, Allah Almighty Himself, describing Hisﷻ Belovedﷺ as ‘khuluqin a’zeem’. وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيْمٍ 'And indeed, you are surely [a man] of great moral character.’ - Surah Al Qalam 68: Verse 4. The Lord Most High Himselfﷻ Gave RasulAllahﷺ the exclusive title of ‘The Greatest Moral Character’ and Celebrates Hisﷻ Love for Holy Prophetﷺ with this highest Honour. Yet sadly, many Muslims today have forgotten authentic traditions and are misled to leave the Ways of The Belovedﷺ, the one with the Highest Adab (mannerism), emptying their hearts from The Heartbeat of Islamﷺ. Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق said, ‘the one with the Highest Adab for Allah is always happy with everything that comes to him. That is the highest point of respect and belief, because that one knows that everything is from Allah. Nothing comes from anyone except Allah. He Controls everything. The highest Adab is to know, accept and be happy with everything. Because everything is Perfect. It cannot be other than Perfect. Even in its imperfection it is Perfect. That is the highest point and the most difficult to reach.’ Our Holy Prophetﷺ, despite being tested with the most difficulties, was the Pinnacle of Adab. Heﷺ was always happy with Allahﷻ, not once bitter with Hisﷻ Will and Choices. This is the heaviest deed on the Scales of Judgement Day and the benchmark for any aspiring mureed to measure ‘progress in this Way’ is through it. When one sees only beauty, no more grumbling or anger in any situation, then is it safe to say there has been progress from leaving bad characteristics and having them replaced with the noble characters of The Belovedﷺ. Shaykh Bahauddin Adil explains it beautifully in his ‘Coffee Talk’ Sohbahs, he said, “What I am trying to say is that under every circumstance, we have to try to find some Happiness. Even if we are in a terrible situation, never turn towards your Lordﷻ in an unhappy and ungrateful state. This is the True Meaning of devoting oneself to Him Almighty. If we say that we are believers, we have to prove it. And the best way of proving it is by staying happy, whatever happens. A believer should always be Happy!” Shaitan insinuates many doubts to leave people hopeless, making them despondent with Allah’sﷻ Will. Mureeds must strive to reject such whispers and slowly progress until there is absolutely no doubt to the good in every Divine Will, having Certainty that whatever Allahﷻ Chooses is always better than what we ask for. يَا حَيُّ يَا قَـيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِيْ شَأْنِيْ كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِيْ إِلَى نَفْسِيْ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu, bi rahmatika astagheeth, aslih lee sha’nee kullahu, wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata ‛ayn O’ Ever Living, O’ Ever Sustaining, in Your Mercy I seek relief, rectify for me all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye. -Sahih Al-Haakim RasulAllahﷺ taught hisﷺ daughter, Sayyidatina Fatima RadiAllahu Anhu this powerful do’a, a do’a that heﷺ said to not let a morning or evening pass without reciting it. In this do’a we find the most beautiful Adab of asking for every thought and action to be dealt with Hisﷻ Divine Choice, holding only onto Hisﷻ Rope of Guidance and not of the egoistic lower self. It is not befitting for a believer to be depressed and disappointed in the Will of his Lord, so be truly happy in every circumstance. May Allah make us to be as our Prophetﷺ was, sincerely happy with real positivity and may it bring us a happy ending and make death the happiest time for us, an eternal reunion with our Most Loving, Kind and Gentle Creator.
