The Best Gift

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 8:9, "...though [Jesus] was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." The wealth Paul is talking about in this passage…it isn't your finances—he's talking about the gift of eternal life. When Jesus came to this earth humbly as a baby, He traded the wealth of Heaven for the poverty of this world. But He did it so that we might become rich and have the opportunity to accept the free gift of eternal life. So this Christmas season, give the best gift of all by sharing with your friends and family Jesus. Share that Jesus came to take our poverty and adopt us as children of God. He became "obedient unto death, even death on a cross" to give us abundant and everlasting life through Him. And in response, we gratefully praise Him and share this Good News with others! Need help?
