But this week, Nintendo putting out their sales numbers. And they're inching closer to take it over, man. Where do they find the extra 5 million unit sales ever? PS2, because I'm convinced I'm with the conspiracy theories out there that they're doing that.

So Super Nintendo, 49 million Xbox One above that at 58. One surprising one for me. The PlayStation Portable at 80 million. Yeah, no, that sounds about right, right?
The PlayStation Portable sold 30 more million than the Super Nintendo. Yeah. The EOA had a moment, man. I mean, well, trust me.

This is a shit list episode. Back to Tim Getty's and Bear Courtney's on the ones and two's. We judge it for your amusement. This best PS2 Games list is from IGN.com.
It was put together by the IGN staff without. I'm sure you're just meeting with Simon Carty. The OG list was put out October 13, 2023. However, it was updated October 26, 2025.
I'm going to read from the first blurb they have here on IGN website where they say for the PS2's, 25th, anniversary last week, we're looking back at the games that made this console truly iconic. These are the games that push the technological and cultural boundaries of the era, becoming unforgettable experiences that still hold up today from toe taping jam sessions to city crossing crime epics these are the 25 best PS2 games now Tim so the first one the toe tap and what the tapping jam session the toe you know what they're talking about guitar girl guitar hero okay or okay yeah it was but it was only but it wasn't I know it's not what people think yeah I don't think guitar hero five years yeah guitar yeah I'm sorry you're just back all right let me write yeah right right you're right unless hold on to tapping jam says I mean is DDR DDR with anything like the hero no it must be guitar right like that's the only which one though they'll probably go to because one very much was the light guitar here is a perfect example of a franchise where the first one is definitively not the best yeah and it's one where it's it definitely felt like here's the proof of concept yeah because it was a lot of covers of songs exactly I remember it wasn't some 41's fat lip it was a different Canadian band covering some 41's fat lip you know yeah guitar hero to not on PS3 and Xbox 360 no three was the first one that kind of it was cross and I said as many times I'll say bye three is the best yes three is the best we was the first never soft guitar hero before that was harmonics I'm not a rock band but but I think for the sake of this list I won't be mad at it being to so is it on top of it but like from the years oh five to oh seven I have essentially a media blackout because that's where I moved to Nigeria for a couple years I went to boarding school didn't have TV in boarding school and so like I missed out on craze is like Ben 10 in Naruto Wow but also I got back to the US and I swear to God everybody had this mother fucking guitar in their homes I got back I got back to the west and everybody was into Ben 10 and are everybody was in a Ben 10 Naruto and everybody had guitar hero and I swear to God it was like a world of changed yeah it was like everything was different it felt like I'm king of the hill where the new season it felt like there's a good shirt everywhere oh my Lord are you to hell yeah okay well question I want to lead off with though is there a definitive number one on the best you games list yes yeah I was all three Wow right like I think Wow the top 25 from IGN that means a lot that means like there is so much conversation and like they need to make sure that this is a well thought out represented list like that like they can stand behind and that the majority of people can look at be like you're right and I'm not like there are probably a couple other games I will I will counter your measure so three with GTA either vice-ideurs and Andreas I don't I think that for as amazing as those games are I think this is a classic conundrum where because there are multiple ones and I don't think any of them are the definitive best one it would be San Andreas that will make the list here but I if you compare San Andreas and Metal Gear Solid 3 I think there's too many factors that go into giving the non to Metal Gear I go to Grand Theft Auto 5 I think that that has more factors that when you put that on the list compared to like a Last of Us or something I think I use a higher chance of GTA 5 beating a Last of Us than there is GTA 3 trilogy beating though how do you factor in another solid 2 and that's what I was gonna counter with both of you I think MGS 2 might be the number one no three's the favorite three's the favorite best and that's three's my favorite but I feel like I usually on the opposite end of the conversation where people usually prefer to here's my thing right I look at these four games MGS 3 GTS San Andreas Vice City and MGS 2 and based on both popularity but then also like critical I am like trying to be the not odd man out but like I'm in here looking at this is like what is the fucking one I can see any of these games being number one yeah but that's the thing I do right like undeniable that like that there's a tarnish on that but this is made in 2025 right up in 2025 with like the knowledge of how much they need going forward you can look back and be like oh riding wasn't that big of like a deal right and also MGS 2 ages like a fine wine every day a new line for that game yes play wise yes me plays no laughs we saw three ages like a fine wine gameplay wise and story wise actually you know why I'm sure MGS 3 and 2 probably have similar problems as far as like is when I think of the story wise of MGS 3 I think about how much sexualization that's a certain character that's that's that is a fact that's true for all of them yeah but but here's the thing about GTA is that GTA is bad all around like in terms of sorry middle-time to another oh I see I see that's here but all right so obviously is are we missing one I think shot of the Colossus is the other one that's in high contention but that's not number one I think that's easily top five I could if they want to make a statement and talk about like it being the clear video games are art game for the PS2 right like it could be but I would be surprised if it was a role so I want people to chat in with what your definitive number one is and why all throughout there is there are possibility of Kingdom Hearts 2 I was on the list for sure real quick one for you bless predator badlands which I'm seeing again tonight because I enjoyed it so much in 40 X that's about the rock my fucking world when we did in review I was saying that like there were elements of shot a surprising amount of shot of the Colossus oh predator badlands and everyone was like what the fuck you talked like that can't give you shit for it and then I saw interview with Dan Traktenberg what they were being asked I think by IGN what were inspirations for the movie and he said shadow the clock no way and I feel very smart well now I got to watch this movie you're vindicated all right so let's let's throw some more games out forget number one even though I think we're forgetting things I feel like the PS2 has oh PS2 is insane yeah got a war to got a war to you write it down by the city 10 I'll see 10 and 12 and 12 and 12 turn out three oh Tony Hawk 3 I'm gonna say burn out three as well Devil May Cry 3 PMC 3 persona 4 yeah it should be 3 NBA Street volume 3 or volume 2 yeah I'll think about that again last night about how like they just turned on out of nowhere for NBA Street volume 2 specifically yeah like they made it be a street and be like oh that's fun they made NBA Street volume 2 is one of the greatest games of all time I did three and over and they just go got the song like something about to just fucking put it on another level from video games fuck it ascended for one development cycle all right let's grant us more three aspect cool three a spec um what other rock star games are there I know there's a lot of bully there's bull bully could make it I think bully makes it I think that's lower yeah it's a fair amount of games if if they're fucking real over yet I do you know warriors make a list if you're some real ones it's not gonna make a list yeah they're real one though oh that's a sex tricky well sex tricky yeah that's the point where do we stand on Resident Evil 4 it's a game cue game yeah it's a game cue game if Resident Evil 4 is on this list I'm mad they're not real ones yeah but like the Warriors is on the down and are you for some years later yeah but like you're made it's the top 25 would you put GTA Vice City on the best Xbox games list and we did a come to Xbox yes probably the same situation I don't like that and I get it sure fine but like we all understand the soul of this list yeah that's bullshit fair enough people chatting sound hill to yes yeah that's alright we got to talk about the mascot platformers because oh yeah no less than 15 of them on the console which ones make the which Ratchet and Clank euphemism Ratchet Clank just but Ratchet Clank reverse cowgirl which one are they gonna go that's fucking hilarious that's all your name in those games back there right up your arsenal I think doing commandos the fan favorite I could be wrong about that because I often get them confused as well but I think Ratchet Clanko and commandos the one on the list for PS2 going commando thinking about it just be from my naughty dog video earlier this year I have a good feeling Jack 2 will be on this list it should not be on this list is definitively a bad game especially if you're updating this list for 2025 it should be Jack 3 slide yeah I can see a slide we need somebody at this office to play slide like be that but we maybe Mike love to do that for the audience because I never slide comes up we're all like I yeah um yeah I don't know about the Jackson and slides like that's about the second that's isn't that Xbox exclusive was that on PS2 it came to PS2 but I don't know if that was well that was a weird one right where wasn't Xbox opposed to publish that but then they fell through they ended up being someone else you published it let's see so many games on this platform yeah I came to PS2 only it was only two months later okay so okay that's a tough one if you're one you put it on the list I don't care where but you get on the list I don't think it's a list no like nothing even about the exclusivity stuff all there just I don't think it makes it there we know we've written down 21 games already yeah since hit and run oh I think that's one I like almost makes a list but doesn't but that's I think about the ps2 is that there's so many of those that like it could happen because that is the one in terms of like known IP yeah yeah represent the that yeah I write down I mean I did we say I mean to yeah that's yeah it's good now yeah I'm gonna write down part of me to I would love the times what is to make it but I don't know that it does no what about me nightclub no need for speed underground yeah need for speed underground to probably be to the first one that went open world we feel any bounce already wrote out yeah I'm on there 100% I'm on already done again so calm's not making the list fighting games they just weren't really any like stand out on PS2 yeah what have comments and K2 three fighter third strike but I feel like I was a piece to was I thought it was yeah was it not I don't think so maybe not I was that was a dream guest I guess either way I don't associate with the yes yeah oh sorry front to yeah I was thinking about that I mean I just I don't know that makes it over here and run yeah I think I think that has to be on the list but he says almost Cal comms and stand out every C2 was on PlayStation 2 but I think of that I know we're thinking gave you the link but I'll talk about I got a Chi yeah I don't know if other people do but you know what I'm not that if you're going fighting in representation yeah all right all right I mean you're not gonna take any of the more comments a weird one but one that had weirdly has had this big legacy build up over the last almost decade now beyond good evil if you're talking about yeah kind of like not like super big kind of Zelda 3D platformer action fucking puzzler game right but the people who played that really fuck with it yeah so I could see someone fighting for to get on the list what's the the football game that people say is like the best one all time that no for no the 2k one 2k five yeah was that yes to get I mean is that another that's not what I associate with PS5 but I also not a sports guy that so because I could either that are mad no for mad no for I can see on the list because that is the madden of that generation and it was like PS2 specifically yeah yeah yeah 2k5 came to PS2 but I don't know what the association is either one I'm gonna write down both next to each other one of them titty mmm prints a person yeah sense of time I think so same time okay with that I'm looking at a super chat here from cozybears saying Jack one I'd say is more likely than two and three and I agree with that because I think if you're just making the top list like it does get kind of weird of like the specifics and I know you know better the reason I would bring up Jack two is when people think about the Jack series they think about the open world or like city GTA vibe of that series that was only in two and three people don't think about the 3D platformer collectathon that the first one was right I disagree I think I think the opposite of that I think you're in the minority on that one honestly I think they think about the GTA Open Timeoffs it's a negative no they think about it as a positive because that was like I think you've heard me too much talk about like maybe back on it because like people look back on that game and I was one of them for the longest time and you know Janik Garcia was one of them for the longest time of like when you think about that GTA sandbox city being able to play that kind of game as a kid who maybe you weren't allowed to play GTA like that was home for you right even city was like the coolest thing ever how many people have actually gone back to Jack two since then and just think about it as like oh that's an iconic one of the best games because it was this like QC 3D platformer or whatever but like Nickelodeon kids vibe that got edgy you know so that's all Jack one we'll see I'm putting money on Jack one running through some super chats here nor Norman writes and says Grantra's mo 3 which we got on the list remember I asked you guys writing with what your possible number one is very next says my personal number one is Kingdom Hearts one it was the game that made me fall in love with gaming and the first game to make me cry we get most looking at here do you think we get one into I don't think we will just because of 25 is a lot but not too much to represent all the things I think one and two deserve to be on the list but I also understand they're not doing that and to definitively is better than one do they sink into the same simple and clean need to remember the twisted metal black is actually a great game that was revered at the time and it's like you could joke about to a black was different very every gameplay of twisted metal black that game is this on our scene definitely before yeah you're gonna like look on the YouTube search page and maybe like halfway watch yeah like that red bar the bottom is gonna be all the way twisted metal black is is a top 25 PlayStation 2 like no jokes no bits or anything like this is like the definitive car combat game in 2028 I want to make that the year where we all go back and play through all the twisted metals alright Sony market down we don't need to do that just like you got to stop signing yourself up for this we're gonna lay all the twisted metals we're gonna call it 2028 colon played at Freddy's house who lived next door yet Xbox shot at my guy Freddy and like that I think was where my obsession was part of me and really was the definition of sauceless yeah but I was my first introduction and I didn't watch the movie yet wow yeah I was just playing the Spider-Man movie video game so like I got so I got so I watch the movie I was like where's Craven we were craving the game that's so funny um I remember then moving on to get in the game playing through the game in my my sisters went to watch the movie but I didn't go with it so they came back and I was asking questions and I was like was black cat in it and they're like who's black cat I'm like asking all these things shout out to Spider-Man to the video game coming in at 23 so caliber 2 okay all right okay so far we're killing it yeah and number you're right and number 22 we got persona 3 wow you know what I appreciate on the list that tells me persona 4 is gonna be really hot oh see I was going with we're not getting persona 4 I think we get both and I hope we get both coming in and number 21 Kingdom Hearts 2 whoa see this feels low to me that's lower than I would have expected it for sure I would have thought top 15 yeah and number 20 we got Times winners I love it we're gonna be tipper right there what's up all right how are you feeling about the list so far I love it solid I think this is very solid so far it's one of those you know you have like your specific vision of what the ps2 is and so many of these games that we've listed already feel like what I grew up with so it's one of those like damn what else is this list yeah we got 19 games left and we've not missed one right no did we write down some winners no you right all right we did not write times winners and oh you said timeslitters no but we it's like and I mentioned yeah we went for so we missed okay these calories because we can all of them we could have just written everything down and we would have gotten everything right you know what they're all right we missed you and number 19 ratchet and clank up your arsenal got it wrong which one did we say going commando I knew it I was I don't know it was one of these two knowing how people talk I think even though I not play other I think I would have said up your arsenal because I hear that more often we got it in 2029 we gotta go back and play all the ratchet games cuz I would love to play up your arsenal and go in commando and just but stuff like I'll play all these games but it was the portal one coming in at number 18 we got Jack to yet ready a walking nails I was saying about doing a piece of that but goddamn it I yeah I can't believe the Jack to it was the one that made it over Jack one I also can't believe that Jack to subtitles renegade you know I don't remember this yeah it's weird there's like renegade version I don't know if this was a real I don't fucking know that way I don't know a unique entry in the series Jack to reinvent itself yeah I mean it seems like I'm just talking about Jack yeah but like a very roasted glasses version of what they think Jack to is boss says renegade is a subtitle in power regions mmm not a you know again more proof that Simon Cardi is the one that made it really funny it should be Jack three and it did all this stuff but actually good number 17 we got oh I mean I mean eco no I mean I thought I didn't think it made the list for sure you go put shot of the classes you don't put you know you put both oh man that's crazy dude we gotta just be real it goes fine no I love that crazy I fuck is called the next game is coming out we're gonna play through it all all right mark your counters don't damn I didn't guess this one number 16 we got Tony Hawks bro skater 3 oh yeah also what's the count for misses is it three or four see one we got one with eco two oh up your arsenal four damn damn look at the naughty dog logo in the jack 2 screenshot that's sick as hell oh that's really they like hide it throughout the posters billboards right always fun coming in at number 15 we got burnout three takedown and I'm sorry not high enough yeah I mean Tony hot three being that low isn't saying because I don't expect dog to be higher on this list yeah like that's wild I think that's 10 from my gym sure yeah that's true yeah honestly when we're talking about like the shit list right from here on I'm only expecting 10 to put in you're putting burnout three and Tony hot pool skater 15 and 16 and eco number 17 I want 10 from now on that's where I'm at coming in number 14 we got Prince of Persia same time I respect it like that real good and number 13 we got Devil McRigh 3 Dante's awakening I could make an argument this is too low but this is like the standard for character action this is the one it took everything and elevated it and since this has happened they haven't ever reached this peak and number 12 we got catamari dawgacy yeah didn't think of this one yeah
