9-10-2008. Bob, In World Religion lecture #7 you mention that you believe Judaism may have originally been like Zoroastrianism with an evil deity created the unkosher foods animals. If this is the case does it explain the charge that John the Baptizer had a demon in Luke 7, since John would be eating the creations of the evil diety? Coud this pericope be a reference back to the polytheistic Hebrew faith Margaret Barker argues was still around with the formation of Christianity? Or is merely an early Christian attempt at attacking the founder of a rival sect by equating him with a crazed ascetic who eats bugs? Steven
