Job 28 is unlike any other chapter among the human speeches of Job and is undoubtedly my (David Alley’s) favourite chapter spoken by Job. It is also a high point of wisdom literature coming out of ancient times. Job asks if wisdom can be mined. Or can wisdom be purchased? Or can wisdom be found? Where does one acquire wisdom and how?
