We’re joined on the panel also by Dr. Sharon Alston, who is working closely with TD James Browne on the who is bringing forth a proposal to introduce an offence called theft of the companion animalWe're chatting about the sharp increase in dog thefts across Ireland over the last few months, and we’ll be taking a look at the need for legislation reform to enforce stricter penalties on the criminals who are responsible for these dog thefts in recent months. We’ll also be taking a look at the legislation in other countries and take a look in particular at the Animal protection index which rates different countries based on their own legislation and finally we’re going to be taking a look at some of the dogs who have gone missing over the last few months suspected of being stolen.
