There appears to be a general widespread fear of all dogs by a specific cohort of society, which is coming from mainstream media fuelling the fear along with local councillors such as DLR council and most recently Cllr Gavan of Limerick Council calling on Mayor John Moran to introduce bye laws to deal with what she says are over 70 restricted breeds. The spread of misinformation from councillors is causing an unease among both the public and dog owners.
