5 things (to write on your hand) about The Black Angels: 1. Took their name from the Velvet Underground's 'The Black Angel's Death Song' 2. Formed a mere 2 years ago in Austin, TX. 3. Once acted as the backing band for the Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe (watch : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCjk7uZlZF8) 4. Several members of the Black Angels are multi-instrumentalists which allows them to swap instruments throughout their live sets. 5. Lead singer Alex Maas sometimes sports an Electric Sitar, which has been described by some as 'the defining sound of the '60's.' (check out http://www.jerryjonesguitars.com/Master%20sitar.htm)
