The Black Butterflies (rmx 2024/02/07)
from Autopilot Club · host Smokin` Monkey Records
Based on an unreleased SNC track we wrote back in 1991`ish. Edit/disclaimer March 2023: Just discovered via DistroKid that what I thought was SNC`s vocalists own (surprisingly good) lyrics was in fact written by Hugh Moffatt and was first recorded and released by The Nashville Bluegrass Band in 1986 as "Last night I dreamed of loving you" - and thus suddenly making this track an odd coverversion. He just changed the final line to give it a dark twist.. I wish I had googled it before spending time editing & remixing the track. updated 2024/02/07 The Black Butterflies Last night I dreamed of lovin you Your skin so soft, your eyes so blue And when I woke, you were not there And I was left to face my fear And I was left alone to know Just like the stars that shine above They shine so high, so far away I die for you each passing day It can not be, it cannot be I can not live in misery When will I hold you in my arms And live with you beneath the stars I wish I was a shining star I`d kiss your eyes, I`d kiss your heart And there I`d be until I die your final breath drew me insane © 2015 Smokin` Monkey Records
