The blind deaf Potter

from My blurred opinion · host Timothy West

When I first seen Kelvin Crosby, it was on TikTok, and it was an ad for his light up, cane, and him telling his story about being hit by cars, multiple times, and that this came changed his life. Since he was born, a genetic condition called Usher syndrome type II has affected Crosby’s hearing and vision. Crosby was born hard of hearing and became legally blind by the time he turned 19. He tried to take his own life 12 times as he searched for meaning in his difficult life. Then, he heard a voice.Crosby, now 36, remembers hearing God’s voice say, “I have a plan for you,” when Crosby felt like he couldn’t live with his condition anymore.Known for his viral social media presence on TikTok as the “DeafBlind Potter,” Crosby hopes to change thousands of lives with a high-visibility cane he invented called the See Me Cane. The cane lights up to make visually impaired people more visible when traveling in low-light conditions. His website http://kelvincrosby.com/
