Like many drawn to the little town, the young man had heard stories of the Blue Hole, a circular sinkhole in the Red Sea whose depths had become legendary among other divers. But Yuri wasn’t content with the tourist-friendly dives that others came for. What he wanted lay much deeper. His goal was to film the Arch, a natural underwater tunnel about halfway down the Blue Hall that leads out to open sea. The Arch had already gained a reputation as the deadliest diving location in the world, but this just made it all the more alluring to some.
