The Book of Enoch – The Rebellion of the Angels

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish text that describes how a group of angels, called the Watchers, descended to Earth, mated with women, and gave rise to a race of giants. These angels also revealed forbidden knowledge to humanity, leading to violence, corruption, and a great flood as God’s punishment. The book recounts Enoch’s journeys through different levels of heaven, where he witnesses the secrets of the cosmos and the throne of God. It influenced both Jewish and Christian theology but was excluded from the biblical canon and survived primarily in Ethiopia.
