The book of Matthew Chapter 2

Matthew 2 records the early events in the life of Jesus following His birth. Wise men from the East travel to Jerusalem seeking the newborn King of the Jews after following His star. King Herod, threatened by the news, secretly plots to kill the child. The wise men worship Jesus and present Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh before returning home by another route after being warned in a dream. Joseph is also warned in a dream to flee with Mary and Jesus to Egypt, escaping Herod's attempt to kill the young children of Bethlehem. After Herod's death, Joseph returns with his family to Israel and settles in Nazareth, fulfilling the words of the prophets concerning the Messiah.
