On October 23rd, 1935, Dutch Schultz, who was a major player in organized crime, was gunned down at the Palace Chop House in Newark, New Jersey. Shultz, born Arthur Flegenheimer, was one of New York's biggest players during Prohibition, amassing an enormous wealth. Some of that wealth, is said to reside in the Catskill Mountains of New York state, just outside of a little town called Phoenicia.
