National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for The Boston Herald by Jessica Heslam, in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 9, 2006. The new fictional TV show called, "Big Love," had been successfully running on HBO during the previous weeks - so successfully that the network had then reported its authorization to begin recording for a second season. The interview with this reporter seemed to be positive. She asked genuinely good questions. "Is the show an accurate account of polygamy?" "What myths does it dispel?" "Has the show done more harm than good, or more good than harm?" Mark Henkel provided numerous insights, including how the modern LDS try to get media to not accurately differentiate Mormon Polygamy from other polygamy, by removing the adjective "Mormon" so that reports sound like they are reporting about "all" polygamists in general. Mark Henkel explained that, if the polygamy comes from (and uses) the theology (and doctrines) from the Book of Mormon (and Mormonism), then it is Mormon Polygamy no matter how much the LDS institution does not like to admit that fact. Despite such positivity and deep education given in this interview, the eventual article, published on May 14, 2006, propagandized otherwise, titled as, "Hit show gets to dark heart of polygamy." Despite having interviewed the leading, established national expert on the topic, and using no other credible sources and anti-polygamists who only know about cult-based & Mormon Polygamy experiences, the hostile article made no differentiation. The resulting article only referenced Mark Henkel as "one expert" without even mentioning his name, the organization, the national movement, or the differentiation of the evarious forms of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. The article was clearly an exactly-provable example of what would be known in punditries of the 2010s as "Fake News," and it explicitly illustrates why Mark Henkel originated in the 2000s, the term, "Manufactured News Corporations" (or, "Manufactured News outlets"), to describe how these kinds of false reports get published to continue false propaganda.
