Fans of electronic music all over the world will likely recognize the name Paxahau – since 2006, they’ve been the force behind Detroit’s Movement festival, one of the most revered large-scale events in dance music. What non-Detroiters might not realize is that Movement is but one weekend for the crew, who keep a steady stream of top-tier house and techno artists flowing through the city all year. As part of his residency at our Detroit studio this summer, The Bunker’s Bryan Kasenic wanted to showcase that other side of Paxahau, so he invited two of their resident DJs to drop in, play some tunes and discuss their wider world. First up is Dan Bain, a longtime Paxahau DJ currently based in Houston. Closing out the show is Chuck Flask, who as Paxahau’s talent buyer helps shape Movement’s closely watched lineups each year.
