The Bunker Podcast 175: Rob Theakston

from thebunkerny · host thebunkerny

This mix is an exploration of releases from 1995 on the Fax label recorded at a private gathering in Kentucky. Rob Theakston is a name that may not be familiar to most of you, but will be instantly recognizable to anyone involved in the 90s Detroit techno scene, where he was a key antagonist and DJ. He worked at Planet E 1998-2000, @Ghostly during the first few years, and had residencies with Recloose at Motor Lounge and Necto in Ann Arbor with Matt Dear and Sam Valenti. He released two EPs as Circuitry for Acoustic Division, including remixes from The Bunker's own Derek Plaslaiko and Patrick Russell. He's currently in a techno retirement of sorts in Kentucky, where he is the editor of Drinkhacker.com, and definitely knows more about whiskey than anyone you know.
