The Burden Bearer | Pastor Courtney Hall

Though Amos was a common sheepherder & fig farmer, God called him to be among the first of the writing prophets of the 8th century BC. Visionary prophetic messages in the Hebrew Bible are often referred to as a "burden," a package from God to be delivered to the people. Amos, whose very name in Hebrew means "burden-bearer" faithfully bore God's difficult message of judgment coming on His people because of their indifference to injustice & sin.
