The Business of Setting Up an Online School

from The Entrepreneurial You · host Heneka Watkis-Porter

Grant founded OnlineDegree.com with a purpose-driven mission: make college more accessible and affordable for everyone. After graduating college with an overwhelming amount of debt, he was determined to change how students embark on their college education. Grant has spent his entire career working in startups with nearly 15 years of experience and 2 prior exits to a publicly traded company. He has been a board member and donor to a number of nonprofits, an advisor to many publicly traded companies and a guest speaker at seminars and graduate school courses.    Show Notes    “With guns, you can kill terrorists, with education you can kill terrorism.” ― Malala Yousafzai   We are bombarded with marketing videos on a daily basis encouraging us to sign up to this school or that. But have we considered what goes into setting up one?   This week, The Entrepreneurial You podcast invites Grant Aldrich to take us through the ins and out of setting up an online school.   Here is a snippet of what Grant shared:   “The way that we monetize was that the whole platform is sponsored by the University.  I'll take a step back. One of the impediments that I realized by looking at the audience - working adults- was that cost was a big factor for them. We all can appreciate this. We're all busy adults. If we have to make a big purchase to do anything, we delay. Some have never been in an online classroom. Some are worried that they won't be successful. Some are worried that they won't have the time management to do it. So you've got all of these fears, including cost As I was moving through to chip away at each of these things I knew it had to be free.”   Listen to the episode and let us know what is your biggest takeaway.   Connect with Host and Creator, Heneka Watkis-Porter   Email Instagram LinkedIn YouTube Twitter Facebook Website WhatsApp - 1876-849-2571   Support The Entrepreneurial You here fo US$5.00 monthly: https://glow.fm/tey.     Connect with Grant Aldrich: Website   LinkedIn Facebook   Visit our Sponsor: Jamaica Stock Exchange   SHOP The Entrepreneurial Store: https://henekawatkisporter.com/store/ BOOKS by Heneka Watkis-Porter: https://henekawatkisporter.com/books/   LEARN Podcasting: https://henekawatkisporter.com/learn/   Book Heneka Watkis-Porter to SPEAK: https://henekawatkisporter.com/speaking/   LISTEN to other podcast episodes: https://henekawatkisporter.com/teypodcast/   READ our blog: https://henekawatkisporter.com/blog/   Looking for spiritual upliftment?
