The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. During last week's broadcast, Gus and listeners discussed a report on North Carolina art teacher Ashley R. Thompson. She's repeatedly failed a required certification for North Carolina public school educators and has consequently been relegated to "substitute teacher" pay and status - which is about an $18,000 subtraction in annual pay. Our "Female Caller in Georgia" commented that any competent academic program should successfully train their students to pass any certifications required to advance in their respective field. Gus investigated further, and reports indicate Ms. Thompson attended the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Institute of Charlotte. Both of these schools are now defunct. The company that owned the Art Institute franchise, Dream Center Education Holdings, is now bankrupt and accused of scamming thousands of gullible college students - like Ms. Thompson. Gus suspects large numbers of non-white people have wasted countless hours and a ransom of dollars on bogus White-operated "schools" like this. We also discuss the LA United School District's 3 day worker strike that left 100,000's of students sitting listless for half the week. Thousands of non-white cafeteria workers, educators, custodial and support staff report they spend more time per week with the children than the students's own parents.
