The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Gus continues to beg listeners to share input about how Covid-19 is impacting their workplace. Some areas of the U.S. are re-instituting mask mandates in public, which may result in workers having to "mask up" on the job again. Or, some colleagues ignore safety regulations and potentially jeopardize the health of others. Since Seattle finally had summer weather this week (temperatures above 75°F), we'll give reminders for those who may be required to endure high temperatures while working. Stay hydrated and do as much as possible to avoid risks associated with extreme heat. We'll also give reminders for parents who have young children entering the work force. NPR investigated allegations against an Alabama Hyundai plant where teenage children were subjected to abusive work conditions. With ongoing labor shortages in a number of fields, young children will continue to be preyed upon by unscrupulous (Racist) employers who disregard the safety of their employees.
