The Candle Maker on Old Fork Road

from Holler Tales — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

In November of 2021, I drove out to the far end of Old Fork Road, past the last cell tower, past the gravel turning to dirt, to buy a candle from a woman named Eliza. Her house had no electricity, no propane, no generator — nothing but wax and wick and the smell of tallow. She told me she'd been making candles for forty years, ever since the night a man in a black coat knocked on her door and asked for shelter. She let him in, and he stayed three days. She never told anyone what happened in those days — not the sheriff, not her sister, not me. But she showed me the cellar where she kept his coat. And she told me why she burns a candle every night, even in summer, even when the windows are open. This is a story about a kindness that became a ritual, and a guest who never really left. #HollerTales #AppalachianHorror #CandleMaker #OldForkRoad #Eliza #TallowCandle #BlackCoat #November #Cellar #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #SoloNarration #Atmospheric #SlowBurn #Ritual #Guest #Kindness #Unsettling Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
