The Caravaners Chapter 16

In which the caravan party, guided more by fate than choice, journeys to a desolate and ghostly farmhouse surrounded by hop-fields, where the absence of a familiar and esteemed companion casts a sombre shadow over their damp and cheerless sojourn. Amongst thoughtful conversations and quiet disillusionments, the narrator contemplates the frailty of constitution amidst the hardships of their travelling life, tempered by a resigned acceptance of the discomforts that a gipsying holiday entails.
