The carnivore diet is a controversial eating plan that consists of only animal products, such as meat, eggs, cheese, and butter. More athletes have adopted this way of eating lately claiming this diet can improve their health, weight loss. One thing athletes (specially combat athletes) do notice though is a significant drop in performance during high intensity sessions and in competitions. This is not a surprise. Following a type of diet that excludes entire food groups is generally a bad idea but all that aside I want to talk about why there is a drop in performance and I'll will give you some tips and suggestions on how to adjust the carnivore diet to suit your needs when it comes to performance as a combat athlete.
