On the morning of March 31, 1995, the American singer Selena Quintanilla- Perez was fatally shot and wounded at the Days Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas. Although paramedics tried to revive Selena, she was pronounced dead of hypovolemic shock at Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital. The shooter was American nurse and the president of Selena's fan club Yolanda Saldivar. Although Ms. Saldivar has been convicted of the murder, she has told many versions of the events that led the the fatal shooting against current evidence.
