"The Cat and Mouse in Partnership" is a short fable by the Brothers Grimm in which a cunning cat convinces a trusting mouse to set up home together and store a pot of fat for winter. Claiming to be called away three times as a godmother, the cat secretly returns to the church each time to devour more of their shared supply — naming the imaginary children Top-off, Half-done, and All-gone.
