Elijah was a man that represented the righteous who are living at the end of time. His life is a type of the times in which we live and the lives we must live. The issues he faced in his day, God’s people will face also. His longing for God must be the longing of our hearts also. His holy zeal and righteous indignation at the abuse of God’s truth and the rank idolatry and licentiousness among God’s people in his day, is a model for us.
