The Children of St. Jhon Paul II by Kai-Anne Clews
from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews
All of the earth’s children, from 1920 to 2005, Were recipients of many blessings, that he prayed for the youth while he was alive. His faith and hope and life professing – Trusting in what the Lord saith and addressing The Universal call to holiness, That controversial call melodious – To lay down the world, and take up your cross – To gain eternity, disguised as loss. We are a special generation, of that there is no doubt, The spirit alive with salvation, when all predicted it was fading out. His prayers armed the children of the Lord, Upon us light, and loved was poured – That the spirit called and claimed us – Enthralled and inflamed us – And like the passion of the ancient saints, We caught again a glimpse of those mighty gates. That lead to a world of perfect love, To make visible on earth, God’s kingdom above. St. John Paul’s prayers for our grace, Advocating in our place, His intercession that he asked the Lord for, A faith that God would indeed provide, at his very core. This saint who walked with earthly feet, Prayed for children to be educated, Play, eat, and sleep, In peace and protected as a flourishing crop, A generation of the Lord whose blessings would not stop. Note from the poet: Today is the 23rd of September 2021, and in honour of Padre Pio, for his feast day, I am publishing this poem. God bless and keep you all. Amen.
