The Children's Campaign That Doesn't Ask for Endorsements or Money
from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein, Natasha K., and Elldwnia English
Hello Everyone! This conversation was exactly what I needed when I needed it. Honestly, with everything that’s going on, I don’t even remember how I came into contact with Elldwnia English. I’ve been just scrambling to get as much attention for as many progressive challengers as I can. I’ve also been inviting my fellow creators onto these interviews. My plan is that those creators will then go on to interview other candidates, and we’ll grow exponentially.Nothing scares the establishment more than voter engagement in the primaries. For this discussion, I invited my good friend Natasha K.. We found Elldwnia to be absolutely amazing. Her primary focus is to help children and the disabled because these are the groups that are hit hardest by the cruelty of this Republican regime, and they are often overlooked. Well, they’re not overlooked by Elldwnia. But here’s where it gets amazing. Elldwnia is running a children’s campaign. It’s all volunteer. She doesn’t take donations. She doesn’t accept endorsements. She does everything exactly the opposite of the status quo.As Natasha and I talked to her, we realized the power of this movement. Elldwnia is demonstrating with her actions that running for office doesn’t require money. It doesn’t require privilege. It doesn’t require power. All it requires is the courage and tenacity to act. Beyond that, she’s teaching this lesson to the people who most need to hear it: OUR KIDS! She’s effectively being a mentor and demonstrating through guidance and action how young people can seize their power. This was my last interview of the day and I was exhausted. I’ve been exhausted for the last two years. But I felt empowered after talking to Elldwnia. I love this story. I love her example. Every time I interview a progressive candidate, I’m surprised and amazed. My faith in humanity is restored.Elldwnia represents the kind of government we could have. She embodies the promise of a better future. Let’s make it happen! You can follow her here:Her website is here.
