The Church Family Feud

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from 1 John 3:9-14 on “The Church Family Feud”. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are given a new position and are “born again” into the family of God. We are set apart for God’s own purpose to live for His glory. This means a new believer undergoes the following: justification - a new standing before God; sanctification – being set apart to God; and regeneration – a new nature, God’s nature. The church family feud occurs when we refuse to obey God and are “carried away” or “enticed” by our old desires and fleshly appetites.  This clashes with others who are totally submitted to God and His desires for our life. Unfortunately, in the Body of Christ, there are Cains and Abels.  This means there are individuals who worship God outwardly, but not inwardly. Also, there are Abels who inwardly belong to God’s family and outwardly practice love and truth.
