The Church is God's New Humanity
from Bel Air Church · host Rev. Dr. Drew Sams
A long time ago, being in God's presence was so exclusive, that only one person a year was allowed into the place where ancient Israelites believed God dwelled. And that person (the high priest), risked their life to enter. Any misstep in ritual cleansing would result in certain death. The Israelites believed this so fervently, that a rope was tied around the priest's ankle, so he could be dragged out should he perish, sparing anyone else from entering to retrieve him. The exclusivity of entering into God's presence is greater than any bottlenecked entryway we can fathom. We have come to take it for granted. So hear the gospel. Be reminded that Christ has opened the door, and has left each of us an open seat at God's eternal banqueting table.Resources for a life of following Jesus, every day, everywhere, with everyone.
