Pentecost begins with rushing wind, flames and many languages. Yet these signs point beyond themselves to the risen and exalted Jesus, who pours out the Spirit so His followers can carry His witness worldwide. The Spirit does not create a special class of Christians or depend on manufactured experiences. He lives within all who truly believe, helps them resist sin and serve Christ, and guarantees the glory still to come.
