Locked doors, threats and beatings cannot silence the apostles, who return to teaching that Jesus is the promised Saviour. Gamaliel, a respected Jewish teacher, warns the council that human movements fail, but work from God cannot be overthrown. Human effort cannot save anyone or establish God's kingdom. His saving purpose advances by the Holy Spirit, bringing peace amid suffering and warning that cautious delay can still leave a person opposing God.
